I was born and raised in Chicago (the best city in the world- Go Bears!). After graduating from University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign, I went to Marquette University for dental school. After receiving the prestigious National Health Service Corps Scholarship while in dental school, I served the underserved in downtown Indianapolis as a general dentist. After working 8 years as a general dentist plus 2 young children, I had this crazy idea to finally pursue my true passion which was to be a pediatric dentist! I was so blessed to match at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan, who is known for their expertise in special needs and medically compromised children.
After pediatric residency, I came back to my hometown of Chicago with my forever souvenir from Detroit (my 3rd baby) and finally started working my dream job as a pediatric dentist!
As the owner of Once Upon A Smile, pediatric dentist and mama of 3 young kids, I designed this pediatric dental office because I’ve seen firsthand how overwhelming a visit to the dentist can be — not just for kids, but for their parents too. I wanted to create a space where children actually look forward to their appointments and where parents feel at ease knowing their child is truly cared for. Every part of the design- from the storybook themed rooms, Nintendo/Xbox gaming section, reading nooks- was inspired by my desire to make dental care a positive experience for the whole family. This isn’t just a dental office — it’s a place built with heart, understanding, and a whole lot of love.
I was born in the Midwest but spent most of my life among desert landscapes, hiking tall mountains under the Arizona sun. After graduating from Arizona State University, I traveled to Michigan to earn my DDS from University of Michigan (where I spent many weekends visiting the Windy City) and then completed my Pediatric Residency in Maryland in 2022. After becoming a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist in 2023, I knew I wanted to return to the contagious energy, culture, and charm of Chicago.
Most weekends, you can find my husband, puppy and I exploring new neighborhoods, trying out local restaurants, indulging our love for sushi and soaking up the sunshine at a park.
I am passionate about making every child feel safe, seen, and cared for at the dental office. My motto is to treat each patient like a member of my family—providing fun, warmth and empathy at every visit. I cannot wait to see all the smiles–big and small– that come into the office and hope to make each patient look forward to visiting us at Once Upon a Smile
I only like to eat the tops of muffins and cupcakes (but I promise I brush and floss after!)
